Not just a transaction platform, but an exhibition suitable for the whole family to enjoy and learn together
The Munich Mineral Show opens every autumn, and this year it will be held from October 26th to October 29th. It is celebrating its 50th edition!
As one of the top three mineral shows in the world, and the largest in Europe, it attracts over 1,100 exhibitors and more than 30,000 visitors annually. One of the highlights of the Munich Mineral Show is that, in addition to vendors selling gemstones, minerals, and fossils, the organizers collaborate with natural history museums and collectors from various countries to plan special thematic exhibitions. For instance, in 2016, the first T-Rex skeleton in Europe was exhibited at the Munich show. This year's special exhibition theme is "Art d'Objet," showcasing artworks inspired by minerals and gemstones from the natural world over the centuries. The show is not only a gathering site for mineral collectors but also a great place for families and educational groups to enjoy and learn together!

Another interesting aspect of the Munich Mineral Show is that the organizers invite collectors from various countries to showcase their mineral collections at the event! This not only allows visitors to see rare collector's items up close but also fosters discussion and interaction among collectors, with the hope of promoting the overall growth of the mineral community. 🤩

Complete guide to visiting the Munich Mineral Show revealed ✨
This time, we also opened up questions on Instagram to collect curiosities about the mineral show. Anna has organized her experiences from visiting various mineral shows all over the world this year to share with everyone!
Q: Is the Munich Mineral Show worth attending?
A: Compared to other world-class large mineral shows, the Munich Mineral Show is very suitable for the majority of general public! First, the location of the show is in a more central area, and it can be reached by subway, so there's no need to rent a car, making it convenient and cost-saving. Additionally, the entire show is divided into two halls for mineral specimens and two halls for jewelry and craft items, with separate entrances. All are indoors and the booths are all very close, so less walking is required, which makes the visit much more relaxed. Finally, as mentioned earlier, in addition to mineral and jewelry transactions, the exhibition area also features special exhibits, activities, and book sales, allowing those unfamiliar with minerals to easily enjoy the show. 😉
However, for sellers looking to wholesale minerals, this show might not be the best choice, as the prices here are relatively high. Sellers interested in bulk purchasing might want to refer to other mineral shows we've previously mentioned.
▲ The site also has booths set up with microscopes for everyone to closely examine the minerals!
▲ In addition to mineral specimens, there are also mineral craft items
▲ There are also fossils for sale at the mineral exhibition
▲ An old-fashioned mineral book stall
▲ There are also mineral books for sale at the site
Q: What minerals are worth buying at the Munich Mineral Show?
A: Minerals from European locations and German local minerals, such as German fluorite. Although there may not be many German fluorites at the show, you can still find high-quality specimens if you dig deep carefully ✨
Q: Will the prices of mineral specimens differ between the days when dealers enter and the days later when the general public is allowed in?
A: Retail prices are generally the same, but wholesale prices are usually lower. Remember to bring an English version of your company’s business license!
Q: Can you use the credit card at the mineral show?
A: Like many other mineral shows, most vendors accept credit cards⭕️, but some do not❌. It’s recommended to have some cash on hand, but also remember to keep your wallet safe, as mineral shows can attract thieves.😨
▲ There are so many gorgeous minerals; the real issue isn’t finding them, but being able to afford them.😆
▲ Always ask before examining minerals at the show!
▲ The super sweet and adorable vendor couple 🥰
